Waiting for You

I remember love

A memory fading

Drifting on the breeze

Caught in the twilight of neglect

Bound by a web of forgetfulness

Can you not hear me?

Screaming your name.

I am still here, waiting for you.

Long hours pass through the day

Sands sifting in the hourglass

I sit so very still

Fading into the wallpaper

Suffocating in silence

Can you not see me?

Standing before you.

I am still here, waiting for you.

I remember your warmth

Holding me tight

No need to search the darkness

Just a touch away

Where has my comfort gone

Can you not feel me?

Cold beneath your hands.

I am still here, waiting for you.

Words could not sway you

Tears could not move you

Screams could not anger you       <--- Bridge?

Kisses could not inspire you

Pain could not touch you

Why am I still here, waiting for you?

Winter comes

A bringer of death

One stroke, swift and sure

The shadows deepen between us

A paltry shade of decay

Can you not mourn my leaving?

I am already in the ground.

I have gone astray, while waiting for you.
