Fire and Flame

Could you feel my fire

Burning in your veins

Drown me in desire

Cleanse me in your flames.

Curling smoke surrounds me

Thoughts do not exist

Still I know the danger

But I cannot resist

Ash to ash

And dust to dust

There is nothing left to fight

After the Fire and the Flame

Your eyes are the spark

A catalyst on my skin

Burning in the dark

Where do I begin

Gasoline and matches

Have nothing to compare

When my fire catches

Use caution and beware

Ash to ash

And dust to dust

There is nothing left of me

After the Fire and the Flame

I can feel your lick of flame

Sure to be consumed

I can only share the blame

For I am all but doomed

Lips trail upon my cheek

An inferno waiting to ignite

I surrender and admit defeat

In your arms, content to burn all night

Ash to ash

And dust to dust

There is nothing left of you

After the Fire and the Flame

I lay ready to combust

Wrapped in serendipity

Mindless of the thought to trust

The boundaries of this chemistry

Set me upon your smoldering pyre

I have bound myself to this fate

Quenching my passion in your fire

Regrets and worries are far too late

Ash to ash

And dust to dust

There is nothing left of us

After the Fire and the Flame
