Another Sunday
Sunday morning
Grey skies blanket the city
A lonely dog barks
Greeting autumn's dawning
Crisp cool air
Creeping beneath warmed sheets
Two bodies entwined
Oblivious to the world around them
Coffee's beckoning aroma
Stirs life into the lovers' waking
Tender kisses herald the morning's glory
Flannel robes and woolen socks
Armor against the coldness
Cream and sugar
Temper the inky fuel
Racing back to the beginning
Tumbling beneath the blankets
Not a drop spilled
Fingers creeping, cold feet on legs
The comfort of touching
Pillows propped for leisure
He lays against them and she against him
Chest, warm heart pounding
Pressed to her back
His arms encircle her
Reaching for his guitar
A song not yet finished
Written out of love
Awkwardly he plays
Arms still around her
Fingers exploring strings
His cheek pressed against hers
Warm breath tickling her ear
As lyrics flow from his lips
Her hand traverses his strumming arm
Humming, their voices join together
A lovemaking of harmony
Notes fade into silence
Lips embrace one another
The guitar is cast aside
A lovemaking of a different harmony
Music made of flesh
Time passes slowly
Morning trickles in
Echoing sounds of pleasure
The sun breaks through the clouds
Sunbeams dance over warming bodies
Just another Sunday morning
